Current Research Manitoba Grant Holders
Am I eligible for an extension on my Research Manitoba grant if my research lab closes?
All Research Manitoba grants have an automatic one-year extension from the original end date. Should you require additional time to work on your Research Manitoba grant, which extends beyond the one-year automatic extension, please contact Jennifer Cleary, Manager, Programs at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are not aware of your grant end date, please contact Jennifer.
CFI Matching Funds Program
When will I hear about the CFI-JELF Matching Funds competition from February 2020?
We are currently working on the funding for this program and hope to respond to applicants and universities in April.
Innovation Proof-of-Concept Grant
Will there be a delay in the Innovation Proof-of-Concept Grant EOI review time?
At this time we do not know if there will be a delay in the EOI review time - but it is possible. We will reach out to applicants individually regarding this, if necessary.
2020 New Investigator and Trainee Award Competitions
Will there be a delay in the New Investigator Operating Grant and Trainee Award competitions?
No – at this time there is no change in the timeline for these competitions. We are working with the review committees to ensure that the competition can move forward as planned.
When will the competition results be announced for the New Investigator Operating Grant and Trainee Awards?
Competition results are still expected to be announced in June 2020.
If an awardee is successful and coming to MB - how will the current situation impact the award start date?
This will be handled on a case-by-case basis, as the situation evolves. Once awards have been announced, if a student is in the situation please contact Jennifer Cleary, Manager, Programs at email@example.com.
Will the review committees be in-person or via tele-conference?
We will host the review committees via teleconference and are equipped with a teleconference platform. We will keep review committee members aware of changes as they arise. We do not plan on delaying the meetings at this time.
General Office Info
Office Hours and Availability:
As of March 16, 2020 our offices will be closed. We are enabling employees to work from home to help slow the spread of the virus. Our employees will continue to be available during office hours Monday to Friday via their email and office phone numbers.
We expect to be off-site until early June 2020.
Visitors to Research Manitoba:
The organization is transitioning face-to-face meetings to virtual or teleconference formats until further notice. The new approach is a safeguard as Research Manitoba's ongoing business is important and meetings should continue.
