DESCRIPTION:Nous en savons plus que jamais sur le développement des cancers du sang et leur réponse au traitement. Les tests génétiques permettent aux médecins de mieux comprendre ce qui se passe et d’orienter leurs décisions thérapeutiques. Cependant\, de nombreuses questions importantes restent en suspens\, notamment comment détecter les cancers plus tôt et qui pourrait être plus à risque. \nRejoignez-nous pour une webémission où nous dévoilerons ce que nous savons\, ce que nous ignorons et ce que l’avenir nous réserve dans le domaine de la recherche génétique. \nLors de cette webdiffusion gratuite Dre Claudie Roy\, MD\, FRCPC\, Hématologue\, Programme de leucémie/greffe de moelle osseuse de Colombie-Britannique à l’Hôpital général de Vancouver et Professeure adjoint clinique\, Département de médecine\, Université de Colombie-Britannique abordera les thèmes suivants : \nRisque et rechute : ce que les gènes peuvent (et ne peuvent pas) prédire\nPourquoi la plupart des cancers du sang ne sont pas héréditaires\nComment les tests génétiques orientent le diagnostic et le traitement\nCe que les nouvelles approches pourraient signifier pour une détection plus précoce. \nDre Claudie Roy\nDre Claudie Roy a complété sa formation en hématologie à l’Université de Montréal en 2019. Elle a par la suite entrepris une formation supplémentaire touchant la leucémie aiguë et la thérapie cellulaire en Colombie Britannique avec le Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant Program of British Columbia. Depuis septembre 2021\, elle occupe un poste au sein de ce même programme et offre des soins aux patients atteints de cancer hématologique ou insuffisance médullaire. Ses intérêts cliniques et de recherche sont principalement en lien avec la greffe de cellules souches hématopoïétiques allogénique.
