Health Research Postdoctoral Fellowships

In the 2017 Provincial Budget, Research Manitoba received a $2 million cut to its budget, which is now $15 million annually.

Research Manitoba is reviewing its organizational priorities and will align our programs with strategic goals identified through this strategic planning process.  This could mean significant change for, and possible cancellation of, existing programs.  Research Manitoba is currently analyzing feedback from a stakeholder survey, and anticipates having more information on 2018 programming available early in 2018.

We understand that this may bring about substantial changes and we greatly appreciate your patience as we work through this process.

A limited number of Health Research Postdoctoral Fellowships are available to qualified candidates with a doctoral degree whose prior postdoctoral research training does normally not exceed three years. Fellowship awards are intended to support recipients in becoming independent investigators. They can only be held in the Province of Manitoba.

Coordinated Fellowships Research Manitoba partners with other Health Research Funders and Institutions for a coordinated competition, where a single merit review process (managed by Research Manitoba) assesses applications for Award Funds from all partners and Research Manitoba.

The 2017 Postdoctoral Fellowship partners were:

CancerCare Manitoba Foundation
Children's Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba

*General Research Manitoba Postdoctoral Fellowship eligibility requirements, along with the additional eligibility for the above partners can be found in the Guide (link below).
