Narrative CV

Research Manitoba has recently moved away from the traditional Canadian Common CV and will now be requiring a Narrative CV for all our funding Programs. The Research Manitoba Narrative CV follows the Tri-Agency guidelines. For further information and clarification on how to write a Narrative CV, please reference the information and links below.

Major Guidelines:

  • Please state your full name
  • Please state your role in the application, for example:
    • Primary Applicant
    • Co-applicant
    • Supervisor
    • Co-Supervisor
  • The Narrative CV must include three mandatory sections:
    • Personal Statement
      • highlights the applicant’s relevant expertise, research impact, leadership qualities, and lived experiences, offering insight into their professional narrative and achievements
    • Most Significant Contributions and Experiences
      • demonstrates the applicant’s key contributions or experiences to demonstrate their impact, significance, and role in advancing their field, spanning research outputs like publications, community engagement, creative works, and societal contributions
    • Supervisory and Mentorship Activities
      • highlighting the applicants’ efforts in mentoring and training future generations, emphasizing their role in creating inclusive environments, delivering training, providing mentorship, and supporting the development of others through diverse and impactful activities

  • General formatting requirements:
    • Page count: Maximum page limit of 5 pages
    • Page size: 8.5 x 11
    • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point font, non-bolded
    • Line Spacing: single-spaced
    • Margins: Standard 1-inch margins around all pages
    • All Research Manitoba Narrative CVs must be submitted in PDF format
