Friday, December 1 2023 – Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Research Manitoba’s 2024 Innovation Proof-of-Concept Grant is officially open for expressions of interest.

This grant strengthens Manitoba-based research and development projects, by filling a funding gap in the Manitoba innovation ecosystem.

Sectors supported include bioscience, information technology, advanced manufacturing, and infrastructure and transportation industries/technologies.

The program supports activities directly related to process validation and proof-of-concept research through two independent streams:

  • Stream 1: Manitoba-Based Consortium supports local collaboration that is addressing a company specific discovery or innovation towards market usability. This stream allows academics to use their world-class knowledge, facilities, and highly qualified personnel (HQP) to close the knowledge gaps identified during the industry partner’s innovation development.
    • This stream provides up to $150,000 over a two-year term or $75,000 per annum
  • Stream 2: Manitoba Post-Secondary Researchers supports the advancement of discoveries or innovations within an academic setting, which may result in products or technologies, towards market usability.
    • This stream provides $100,000 over a two-year term or $50,000 per annum

Applicants can find information about the eligibility criteria and application requirements on our website: https://researchmanitoba.ca/funding/programs/innovation-proof-of-concept-grant/
