Research Manitoba’s 2024 New Investigator Operating Grant Awards are officially open for applications.

The New Investigator Operating Grant program is a peer-reviewed competition designed to help launch the careers of outstanding researchers entering their first academic appointment phase. These grants support Manitoba’s early-career researchers to achieve the research productivity and track record necessary for obtaining longer-term, more sustainable funding.

The competition has three funding categories: Health (Basic Biomedical and Social Population Health), Natural Sciences and Engineering, and Social Sciences and Humanities. This is a two-year award and the value of the awards are: 

  • $65,000 per year for Health projects,
  • $25,000 per year for Natural Science and Engineering projects, 
  • $20,000 per year for Social Science and Humanities projects.

Applications will remain open until March 1, 2024, at 4pm CST.
Submit your transcripts and referee letters by March 15, 2024, at 4pm CST.
