Winnipeg, Manitoba, May 13, 2024 – Research Manitoba is excited to announce the launch of the Research Connections grant program, offering funding opportunities for Manitoba-based research events. This grant reflects Research Manitoba’s commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and knowledge exchange within Manitoba’s research community.
The Research Connections grant is designed to support events that create skill development opportunities, facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration, promote research findings to the public, and connect researchers with potential industry partners. Eligible events include conferences, workshops, seminars, and other research-related gatherings.

We recognize the importance of fostering collaboration, promoting diverse perspectives, and providing opportunities for researchers to enhance their profiles.”
The Research Connections grant has two intake deadlines for events taking place within 12 months after the intake deadline:
- Intake 1: June 17, 2024
- Intake 2: November 18, 2024
Research Manitoba will provide up to $7,500 in funding for eligible events, plus an additional $2,500 available for events taking place in Northern Manitoba.
