NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT

Wednesday, October 18, 2023 – Winnipeg, Manitoba.

On behalf of Research Manitoba board and staff, we congratulate The Honourable Wab Kinew, Manitoba’s 25th Premier and first First Nations Premier, and all members of the historically diverse executive council that was sworn in today, October 18, 2023, as the Manitoba government.

Research Manitoba looks forward to continuing to work with the government alongside Honourable Jamie Moses, Minister of Economic Development, Investment, Trade and Natural Resources, for the benefit of all Manitobans.

A statement from Karen Dunlop, CEO, Research Manitoba:

“The introduction of this new government provides an exciting opportunity to work together to increase opportunity for Manitobans and Manitoba organizations as they work to achieve their potential.

Through supporting research and innovation, including new initiatives in clinical trials research, health research and strengthening existing infrastructure, we will create more opportunities and elevate the world class research taking place in Manitoba.

Along with increasing partnerships with Indigenous organizations, we have a new program that will enable more participation of Indigenous students and organizations in research and innovation.

This is another important step on the path of economic reconciliation.”
